Drawbacks:So that you can make an informed choice regarding the Atkin’s Diet plan, I will list some real concerns for you to consider before you decide to temporarily change your way of eating.
1. Increase risk of heart disease is likely.o Many arguments are made to refute this statement but the fact remains that if one eats a high fat diet, it will be carried into the blood stream and may find a resting place in the blood vessels of the body. The weight loss benefits of this diet may not offset the increase risk of clogged arteries.2. Rapid future weight gain is noticed as frequently as the initial weight loss itself.o The Atkin’s diet plan does not cause rapid weight gain. The rapid weight gain is caused when the dieter migrates back to a normal way of eating with a more balanced diet. The high fat Atkin’s diet coupled with the newly introduced carbohydrates and the dieters’ sensitive and unstable metabolism creates an environment where weight gain is inevitable.o You will have to keep repeating this diet. Results do not last for people who do not maintain its strict low to no carbohydrate premise.3. Long term effects are unknown.o Although the Atkin’s type diet has a long history, no one (that has come forward) has been faithful to it for very long. The oldest and healthiest people on the planet do not follow this type of extremely high fat, high protein diet.o The human digestive system is designed to be omni-vorious (to consume plant and animal life). This type of diet may have a long term detriment.
